TMT (Treadmill Stress Test) in Amravati: Who Needs It and How to Prepare
A TMT (treadmill test) records your ECG and blood pressure while you walk on a treadmill with gradually increasing speed. It helps find heart problems that appear only on exertion.
Who may need it
People with chest discomfort on exertion, some people with risk factors, and some after treatment, when the doctor advises it. It is not suitable for everyone; your doctor decides.
How to prepare
- Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes
- Ask the hospital whether to take your usual medicines and whether to avoid a heavy meal
- Tell the team about chest pain, breathlessness or joint problems
What happens
Electrodes are attached, then you walk while the speed and slope increase. The team watches your ECG and blood pressure and stops the test if needed. Afterwards the doctor explains the result.
