2D Echo Test in Amravati: What Echocardiography Shows

By Dr. Pavan Agrawal, Interventional Cardiologist, Amravati · Updated · 2 min read

A 2D echo (echocardiography) uses sound waves to create moving pictures of your heart. It shows how well the heart pumps and how the valves work, without radiation.

How it is done

You lie on your side. Gel is applied to the chest and a probe is moved over it. It usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, is painless and needs no needle.

What it shows

  • How strongly the heart pumps (ejection fraction)
  • Valve narrowing or leakage
  • Thickened or weak heart muscle
  • Fluid around the heart
  • Damage after a heart attack

When it is advised

For breathlessness, swelling, a murmur, high blood pressure with heart concerns, after a heart attack, or to follow heart disease over time.

Compare with the other tests in ECG, echo and TMT. Call 95116 13365 for an appointment.
