Left Arm, Jaw and Back Pain: Could It Be Your Heart?
Heart pain does not always stay in the chest. It can spread to the arm, jaw, neck or back, which is why such pain should be taken seriously.
Heart-related pattern
- Pain that comes with effort and eases with rest
- Heaviness or pressure rather than a sharp stab
- Associated sweating, breathlessness or nausea
Usually not from the heart
- Pain that worsens with movement or pressing on the area
- Pain after a clear muscle strain
What to do
- If the pain is new, severe or unexplained, get an ECG at once
- Call 112 or 95116 13365 if symptoms persist for more than a few minutes
