Heart Attack Emergency in Amravati: What to Do in the First Hour

By Dr. Pavan Agrawal, Interventional Cardiologist, Amravati · October 2026 · 2 min read

In a heart attack, every minute counts because heart muscle is lost while the artery stays blocked. Acting fast improves the chance of full recovery.

What to do at once

  • Call 112 or the hospital emergency number 95116 13365
  • Sit down, stay calm and avoid any effort
  • Loosen tight clothing and do not walk or drive yourself
  • Tell the doctor if you are allergic to any medicine

What not to do

  • Do not wait to see if the pain passes
  • Do not rely on home remedies or gas tablets
  • Do not go to a clinic without emergency facilities

Treatment at hospital

  • An ECG is done immediately
  • Blocked arteries are opened with emergency angioplasty or clot-dissolving medicine, as the doctor decides
  • You are then monitored in the cardiac unit
